    This is a seven-member board appointed by the Mayor to act as the City of Red Wing's primary agency for housing and redevelopment activities. The HRA administers and manages public housing properties and programs assisting families; administers housing and urban development rental assistance programs, assists redevelopment projects and plans, and also administers a variety of housing and commercial loan programs. The HRA meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

    The Arts and Culture Commission will advise the City Council concerning Arts and Culture policies, public projects, issues and initiatives and will be a fierce advocate for Arts and Culture in Red Wing. The Commission will work to ensure an inclusive and cross-cultural environment to help build community. The Commission shall work to further the City's Arts and Culture vision statement: Red Wing thrives as a creative regional arts and culture hub where everyone can participate.

  3. Red Wing Public Library Board Workshop

    The Red Wing Public Library has a nine member governing board of city residents appointed by the Mayor and City council, which makes policy relative to the library’s services, collection development and programming, use of the building, intellectual freedom issues and develops and monitors the budget. There is potential for some additional committee work. Its mission is to “grow lifelong learners”. One member may be a non-city resident of Goodhue County. The term is 3 years and you may serve 2 consecutive terms. Library Board policies are administered by the Library Director. The board meets the second Wednesday of every odd month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 315 West 4th Street. Workshops may occur as needed on the second Wednesday of even months in the Foot Room of the Red Wing Public Library at 6:00 p.m.

  5. Human Rights Commission Workshop

    Acknowledging the universal concept of human rights, the mission of the Human Rights Commission is to ensure that ALL Red Wing residents may participate equally and fully in the human experience. The City will work to extend these rights to economic opportunity, safe and affordable housing, and quality education at all levels to create a safe and supportive community environment. This involves actively working to assure all City policies and practices do not discriminate on any basis, including immigrant or refugee status.
