Notice of 24-hour Construction Shifts on Mississippi River Bridge Project
(March 11, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Engineering Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that for the next two weeks (3/11/19 – 3/22/19), Zenith Tech will be working 24-hour shifts on the Mississippi River Bridge project. This work will involve setting tub girders for Span 2 (Wisconsin span) and Span 3 (River span). These 24-hour work shifts are planned for Monday through Friday but depending on progress, weekend work may be added as well. No impacts to traffic using the existing river bridge are anticipated for this work. The 24-hour work shifts are planned due to the impending high water levels forecasted for the Mississippi River due to snow melt and springtime rains.
Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. Questions may be directed to Jay Owens, City of Red Wing Engineer, at 651.385.3625. Visit the project website for additional information.
