Notice of Nighttime Construction Noise due to Mississippi River Bridge Construction

(March 5, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Engineering Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that nighttime work will be occurring due to work for the Highway 63 Mississippi River Bridge construction. The nighttime work will involve the removal of sheet pile materials at Pier 2 (on the Wisconsin side of the river). The nighttime work will last during the nights of Tuesday, March 5, Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7. No impacts to traffic using the existing river bridge are anticipated for this work.

This work will involve extra construction noise due to the equipment needed to remove the sheet pile materials and the nature of the removal work.

Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. Questions may be directed to Jay Owens, City of Red Wing Engineer at 651-385-3625. Visit the project website for additional information.
