[ARCHIVED] Red Wing Fire Department Responds to Fire at Business on 100 Block of Lagrange Street

(September 15, 2023, Red Wing, Minn.) – Today at 5:15 a.m., the Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a fire at a business in the 100 block of Lagrange Street, Red Wing. 

Firefighters were on the scene within two minutes of receiving the call. Firefighters found smoke emitting from a silo area. Initial activities included searching and fire extinguishment. Firefighters worked with the staff to isolate the processing line and to ensure there was no fire spreading to the rest of the plant. 

Apparatus used on the scene included two fire engines, one ladder truck, three ambulances, two chief officers, and one utility vehicle. A total of 27 firefighters worked at the scene for approximately two hours. Red Wing was assisted on scene by Ellsworth with a fire engine and Lake City with a ladder truck. Ellsworth Ambulance provided station coverage with an Ambulance. Goodhue County Sheriff's Dispatch, as well as Red Wing Police, assisted on the scene. 

While this incident was ongoing, the Red Wing Fire Department received one additional emergency medical call that was handled by the Hastings Fire Department.
