(August 11, 2023, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following notification has been received from Xcel Energy.

Road Closures on Sylvan St., Locust St., Phelps St., and Greenwood St. for Gas Main Work

Xcel Energy is completing work on a gas main replacement project in the area of: Sylvan St., Locust St., Phelps St., and Greenwood St. The project involves replacing natural gas main, valves, a regulator station, and services that run under the boulevard or sidewalk to your home.

Parts of Sylvan St., Locust St., Phelps St., and Greenwood St. are closed to regular traffic for the duration of the project. These streets will reopen to regular traffic once the project is completed. The project is expected to last 3 – 4 weeks. 

Residents are asked to please follow posted detour signs for the duration of the closure. The detour route includes East Ave., Norwood St., and Maple St.
