(May 21, 2023, Red Wing, Minn.) – On May 21, 2023, at 5:36 a.m., the Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a house on fire in the 700 Block of McSorley Street in Red Wing.
Firefighters/paramedics were on the scene within three minutes of receiving the call. Firefighters made entry into the home and extinguished the fire. One occupant was transported in stable condition to MCHS-Red Wing for smoke inhalation.
The home sustained minor fire damage that was contained to the kitchen area. The cause of the fire, which originated in the kitchen, is under investigation.
Apparatus used on the scene included two fire engines, two ambulances, and one chief officer. Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers, and Xcel Energy assisted Red Wing Fire Department on the scene. Ellsworth Fire and Ambulance provided station coverage during the incident.
