(March 23, 2023, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following notification has been received from Xcel Energy:

Xcel Energy, along with its contractor Q3 Contracting, will be replacing a natural gas valve along North Service Drive near Industrial Hardwood Products the week of April 3. The valve along with sections of piping on each side will be replaced and moved out of the roadway into the soft surface right-of-way on the south side of the road. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 3, and be completed by Friday, April 7, weather permitting.

Traffic control will be installed on Monday, April 3, with a “TAKE TURNS” approach to the work area until the work is complete. If project work isn’t completed by Friday afternoon, the road will have both lanes open for the weekend, and permanent restoration will occur the following week.

Project Contacts:
Gareth Brickzin, Xcel Energy
Keaton Welch, Q3 Contracting

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this short project. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through the work zone. Thank you in advance for your patience!
