The Red Wing Housing and Redevelopment Authority has named Kurt Keena as its new Executive Director, effective December 1, 2021. Selected by the HRA’s Board of Commissioners following an eight-month search, Keena will succeed Corrine Stockwell, who has been acting as Interim Executive Director since February 1, 2021, when Randal Hemmerlin retired.
After two rounds for the search for a new Executive Director, one in May, the other in October, Keena stood out among the other candidates with his extensive experience in many aspects of housing. “The HRA Board looks forward to working with Mr. Keena. With his background and him inheriting a well-trained and knowledgeable staff, our agency will continue in capable hands," said Roseanne Grosso, Board Chair.
Keena has been in housing for over 30 years and will be a valuable asset to the Red Wing HRA in bringing affordable, sustainable housing and community redevelopment programs to the City of Red Wing. Keena has previous experience in supportive housing and homeless shelters for youth, which are much needed programs within the community.
"I look forward to joining the HRA and together with the staff, continuing the good work in providing quality affordable housing and redevelopment activities for the community of Red Wing," said Kurt Keena.
