(October 21, 2021, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following notification has been received from HBC:

Hiawatha Broadband Communications Fiber Optic Trenching Temporary Alley Closure between Plum St. & Bush St.

Hiawatha Broadband Communications (HBC), and its contractor Miller Utilities, will be performing fiber work within the alley between Plum Street and Bush Street which will require a temporary alley closure and associated detour. 

At 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, through Thursday, October 28, at 5:00 p.m., a portion of the alley between Plum and Bush Street will be closed to through traffic for HBC’s contractor Miller Utilities LLC to complete conduit installation work. There will be a detour by way of 6th or 7th St. No residential driveways are to be impacted by the construction area. Residents are asked to please follow the detour for the duration of the closure. The alley will reopen in this area on Thursday October 28, at 5:00 pm. 

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones. Thank you in advance for your patience.
