Red Wing Riverview Skyway "Pedestrian Bridge" Update:
The parking area at the bridge entrance on Levee Road is ready for use for additional Old West Main Street parking and business access.
Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor was successful in completing all the main line sidewalk along Old West Main up to the east side of Jefferson Street this past week. The continued focus is concrete, and schedule shows a big week next week, with the last block of concrete curb and gutter planned to be poured on Tuesday and the new concrete pavement within Jefferson Street planned to be poured starting Thursday. The concrete pavement within the intersection is anticipated to take two days to complete. A second concrete crew will be onsite all next week continuing to work on the intersection bumpouts, pouring the new concrete sidewalk between Jefferson and Buchanan Street, and fill in all remaining concrete areas along Old West Main back to Jackson Street. The schedule is still to open Old West Main Street by Labor Day weekend. The project was successful in securing the railroad permit necessary to complete the new utility work on Jackson Street, and closure of Jackson Street is expected sometime the first two weeks of September. Full completion and reopening of Jackson Street is not anticipated until mid to late October. Finally, continued advancement of the roadway lighting system and streetscape amenities will be visible over the coming months as well
