Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor anticipates being completed with all utility work within the intersection early the week of the July 11. The mainline storm sewer and sanitary sewer have been completed. The watermain has been connected to the south and contractor is currently working on getting it stubbed out of the intersection to the west. The final utility work will be the installation of the new catch basins directly within the intersection starting mid next week. Immediately following the utility work, the contractor plans to complete the new sand and aggregate base to allow for the start of concrete work within the intersection ideally the week of the July 18. First thing next Tuesday morning, July 5, the contractor plans to remove the remaining sidewalk along the north side between Jefferson and Washington Street to allow for some gas relocation work, installation of the structural soil and final grading for the new sidewalk. The goal is to be able to start pouring the new sidewalk along the north side the week of the July 11. The contractor was successful in completing some of the concrete mainline and parking lane paving heading west of Washington Street this week. The concrete crew is scheduled to be back onsite Thursday next week to pour the south side sidewalk, remaining curb around the bumpouts and finish the missing concrete work from Stage 1 at the bumpouts at Jackson Street. Happy 4th of July!
