Red Wing Riverview Skyway "Pedestrian Bridge" Update:

The parking area at the bridge entrance on Levee Road is ready for use for additional Old West Main Street parking and business access.

Old West Main Street Update:

The contractor successfully completed the replacement of the mainline storm sewer running north/south within Jefferson Street this week. The next steps are to get the sanitary sewer and watermain stubbed out of the intersection heading west and then complete the installation of the new catch basins directly within the intersection. The contractor estimates being completed with all utility work within the Jefferson Street intersection the week of July 11. At that time the rest of Old West Main will be closed to the west side of the intersection of Buchanan Street. As the contractor is continuing with the new utility work heading west, a second crew will be focusing on the installation of the new sand and aggregate base within the intersection to allow for the construction of the new concrete curb and gutter and pavement. The contractor is scheduled to start the paving of the new concrete roadway between Jefferson and Washington first thing next week. It is anticipated that the contractor will focus on the two thru lanes and the south side parking lane first. The north side parking lane is required to be left out to allow for relocation of a gas main and facilitate business access. The contractor also anticipates starting on the construction of the south side sidewalk later next week. Lastly, additional business signing is planned to be installed early next week at Jackson and Buchanan to help direct vehicles to the alley and public parking as requested from area businesses.
