Pedestrian Bridge Update:
The pedestrian bridge is open. The last remaining seeding was completed this week and all work has now been completed for this project. The final bridge plaza and permanent connection to Old West Main will be completed next year as part of the street reconstruction project.
Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor has made good progress this week and last. The paving of the second (eastbound) 12-ft driving lane is happening today. Also today, the contractor hopes to pave the remainder of the north side parking lane. Next week the contractor plan to focus on the south side PAR (sidewalk along the buildings) Monday and Tuesday and then focus on the Jackson Street new curb and gutter and intersection tiebacks. The schedule for paving of the southside parking lanes has not been determined yet and will be reviewed once the PAR is completed along the south side businesses. The concrete work is expected to continue strong for the next two weeks as weather looks good. The construction of the new light footings is expected to start the first week of November allowing the full 7-days of cure on the new concrete roadway. The schedule for the light poles themselves is still unknown and shipment not expected until after the new year, however the construction of the footings is critical in order to fill in the boulevard colored concrete.
