Pedestrian Bridge Update:

The pedestrian bridge is open. The last remaining seeding is scheduled to be completed next week.

Old West Main Street Update:

The contractor was successful in completing all the remaining curb and gutter this week. The contractor was also able to pour the first (westbound) 12-ft driving lane with the concrete paver today. The contractor plans to pour the north side parking lanes and intersection tie backs at Jackson Street early next week while the westbound lane cures. The hope is that the westbound lane is cured with sufficient strength in order to pour the second (eastbound) 12-ft driving lane by end of next week. The week of October 25th the contractor is aiming to pour the south side parking lanes and start the new concrete sidewalk along the north side businesses. In preparation for the new concrete sidewalks, the contractor plans to start removing the old sidewalk and placing the new aggregate base. This will ensure everything is prepped and there are no delays with the new concrete work. All businesses will have access by a compacted gravel walkway and ramps as necessary at the doorways. Once the south side parking lanes reach sufficient strength, the contractor will immediately start the new concrete sidewalk along the south side businesses allowing for work on both sides simultaneously. The new concrete sidewalk work is expected to continue into early November.
