Newsletter Number 24

Pedestrian Bridge Update:

The pedestrian bridge is open. The bridge lighting was energized last week and is fully operational. The final remaining item is the small amount of seeding on the north side of the tracks and has been delayed to the end of next week.

Old West Main Street Update:

The contractor was successful in constructing all the new curb and gutter that could be machine poured this week. The contractor plans to complete the rest of the curb and gutter required to be constructed by hand next week Monday and Tuesday. Starting on Tuesday the contractor plans to setup the stringline for the first pass of the concrete paver. The contractor plans to pave the north side or westbound lane first. Immediately following the first paver pass the contractor plans to infill the north side parking lanes and the tie ins at Jackson Street. Once sufficient strength is achieved on the north lane, estimating five days from the date of initial paving, the contractor plans to pave the south or eastbound lane. The contractor anticipates having the majority of the concrete paving completed within the next two weeks. The new concrete sidewalk work will be intermixed with the pouring of the south side parking lanes to accommodate cure times and to keep progressing towards completion. The new concrete sidewalk work is expected to continue into early November.
