Pedestrian Bridge Update:
The bituminous trail was successfully paved on Monday. Next week, the city is scheduled to complete the paving of a temporary bituminous connection at the south abutment. This temporary connection will remain in place until the permanent plaza construction is completed next year. The final grading, topsoil and seeding work is expected to be completed by end of day today. The contractor expects to finish the final bridge staining today as well. The final two sections of ornamental railing are on schedule to be installed next week. The final bridge lighting has been installed and currently waiting on XCEL Energy to be energized. The project is on track for achieving the completion date of September 30, 2021.
Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor is currently working on the roadway excavation. Rain received earlier in the week delayed the roadway work two days and following the weekly meeting yesterday, it was determined the existing soil subgrade requires additional excavation and stabilizing aggregate. This additional subgrade correction is expected to be completed early next week, followed immediately by the installation of the sand and aggregate base. The contractor’s revised schedule shows the start of the new concrete curb and gutter by the end of next week. The concrete roadway will start immediately following the new curb and once the concrete roadway is completed the contractor will focus on the new sidewalk, starting with the area adjacent to the building (Pedestrian Access Route - PAR) first and finishing with the concrete boulevard located between the PAR and the curb. The concrete work is expected to carry through to the end of October
