Pedestrian Bridge Update:
The contractor is continuing with the ornamental railing installation and expects at least another week to fully complete. Additionally, final preparations for the new concrete deck pour are being completed. The deck is still scheduled to be poured on Tuesday, September 14, by means of a concrete pumper truck in coordination with CP rail.
The trail paving is scheduled to be completed next week. Immediately after the paving, the embankment is scheduled to be graded with new topsoil and seeded. Overall, the project is on schedule for a bridge completion and opening by end of September.
Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor successfully completed all utility service construction yesterday. The focus for the upcoming week is all storm sewer with one crew working east of Jackson and the second crew working west towards Washington. The contractor is anticipating being completed with all utility work early the week of September 20. Immediately following the utility work, the contractor plans to focus on the new roadway excavation and grading in preparation for the new concrete curb and gutter and pavement. The contractor’s schedule shows the start of roadway concrete curb and gutter first thing the week of September 27. The plan is still to complete the roadway concrete work block by block to facilitate project progression. The current schedule shows the final concrete sidewalk work continuing through the end of October.
