Pedestrian Bridge Update:

Big news this week with the successful installation of the truss bridge over the railroad tracks on Tuesday. Currently, the contractor is installing the rebar and drains ahead of pouring the new concrete deck. The deck is scheduled to be poured on Tuesday, September 14, by means of a concrete pumper truck in coordination with CP rail.

The contractor is also installing the ornamental railing, which will continue the next couple of weeks. Trail paving is anticipated to be completed mid-September. Overall, we are on schedule with the contract completion date of September 30, 2021.

Old West Main Street Update:

The contractor made good progress this week, fully paving Stage 1B, and we are on track to reopen by end of day Thursday, September 9. The contractor was also able to mobilize a second utility crew allowing progress on both utility services and storm sewer this week. Utility service construction is anticipated to be complete next week, allowing both crews on to focus on storm sewer construction. One crew plans to work east of Jackson while the other works towards the west. Ideally the contractor will be finished with all utility work the week of September 20.

Immediately following the utility work, the contractor plans to focus on the new roadway excavation and grading in preparation for the new concrete curb and gutter and pavement. The plan is to complete the roadway concrete work block by block to facilitate project progression
