Pedestrian Bridge Update:
This week the Contractor has been working on installation of the electrical conduit onto the truss bridge (Span 1). All three spans are planned to have continuous deck lighting. The truss installation is still on schedule for August 31st; however, the specific time won’t be known until that same day.
The ornamental railing is scheduled to be delivered on August 30th, and installation is planned to start immediately following successful unloading. The installation of the railing is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.
The Contractor is working on finalizing the schedule for the trail paving and is not expected until after the truss bridge is set. Final grading and seeding of the embankment will take place after the trail is paved.
Old West Main Street Update:
The Contractor has completed all the service work east of Jackson Street and is currently focusing on the new storm sewer between TH 61 and Ace Hardware’s driveway. The Contractor plans to close this section of roadway from Ace’s driveway up to TH 61 (Stage 1B) starting next week Tuesday, August 24th. The closure is required to construct the new concrete roadway and is anticipated to be reopened Friday, September 3rd. Access to Ace Hardware and O’Reilly Auto Parts is planned to be provided through Ace’s parking lot from Cedar Street.
The Contractor plans to complete the sanitary and water services on the west side of Jackson Street next week. Immediately following the services, the focus will be entirely on the new storm sewer starting within Jackson Street and heading east first, then west towards Washington Street. The Contractor anticipates nearing completion of all utility work within Stage 1 the week of Labor Day.
