Pedestrian Bridge Update:
The Contractor is planning to pour the first stretch of concrete curb on Spans 2 and 3 north of the RR tracks today. The concrete curb and pilaster work is anticipated to continue for approximately two more weeks. The truss bridge is on schedule to be delivered and assembled next week. The installation over the RR tracks has been delayed until August 31st to accommodate Canadian Pacific staffing. The project overall is still on schedule for completion by end of September 2021.
Also, over the next 3 weeks the Contractor’s subconsultant Loss Protection Associates out of Eagan, MN will be completing the post construction building condition survey. This survey is planned to include all items inspected during the preconstruction survey to document any observed changes.
Old West Main Street Update:
The Contractor plans to finish the new sanitary sewer up to the east side of Washington Street today. Starting first thing next week the Contractor plans to begin installing the new watermain between Jackson and Washington Street. Also starting next week, the Contractor plans to bring in a second utility crew to begin installing the new storm sewer within Jackson Street and heading to the east.
The Contractor is estimating another two weeks of utility work before starting roadway grading followed by concrete roadway pavement by the end of the month. Existing sidewalks will remain in place until the roadway pavement is constructed and alternate pedestrian routes can be established.
All detour signing is in place and all businesses along Old West Main Street are open.
