Old West Main Street Update:
The contractor is continuing to progress with the concrete work and expects to have all the concrete pavement completed this week. On Jackson Street the plan is to finish pouring the last section of regular concrete pavement tomorrow and pour the final-colored crosswalk on north side of Old West Main Friday. The concrete contractor anticipates completing all the concrete work within the alley early next week. The goal is to complete the paving of the final lift of bituminous between Buchanan and Jefferson by end of the month. The bituminous paving within the alley is anticipated to be completed the first week of November. The striping of the parking stalls on Old West Main between Jefferson and TH 61 (Main Street) is scheduled to be completed tomorrow, Thursday, October 20. To facilitate the completion of the pavement markings, there will be No Parking signs placed along both sides of Old West Main for this one day only. Next week all remaining permanent signing is scheduled to be installed. All installed streetlights and bollards east of Jefferson are energized and operational. The lights between Jefferson and Buchanan are fed from the alley and anticipated to be operational within the next couple of weeks. The remaining wood benches, wooden light poles, kiosk, and entry monuments at the intersection of TH 61/ Main Street are still in production and anticipated to be installed later this fall.
