Old West Main Street Update:

The contractor was able to successfully connect the south end and test the new Jackson Street watermain this week. The concrete work near the railroad tracks was started on Thursday, and the goal is to get all work completed within 50 feet of the tracks by end of day Friday so that the railroad flagger is no longer required. The prime contractor expects to continue to excavate and install the new aggregate base along the rest of Jackson Street early next week. The prime contractor also plans to officially start work within the alley next week beginning with the storm sewer and then followed by the grading of the new parking area. All the streetlights and bollards currently installed are planned to be energized by the end of the week. The remaining wood benches, wooden light poles, kiosk, and entry monuments at the intersection of TH 61/Main Street are still in production and anticipated to be installed later this fall. Lastly, with the project nearing substantial completion, there is not anticipated to be any additional weekly meetings on Thursdays at 10 a.m.
