Old West Main Street Update:
Installation of the metal benches, flowerpots, streetlights, and bollards were the focus on Old West Main Street this week. The electrical contractor anticipates having all the new streetlights and bollards operational by mid next week. The boring contractor was successful in getting the new watermain installed underneath the railroad tracks this week. The prime contractor was able to successfully connect the new pipe to the existing watermain on the north end and is currently working on getting up the hill to connect the watermains together at Old West Main Street. Early next week the contractor plans to install the new storm sewer on Jackson Street and goal is to start pouring the new concrete pavement on Jackson Street by end of next week. While the concrete work is being completed on Jackson Street, the prime contractor plans to start work in the alley beginning with the installation the new storm sewer and then followed by the grading of the new parking area. The remaining wood benches, wooden light poles, kiosk, and entry monuments at the intersection of TH 61/Main Street are still in production and anticipated to be installed later this fall.
