Old West Main Street Update:
Old West Main Street is planned to be fully reopened by end of day today. The second and final half of the colored crosswalks poured earlier in the week have reached sufficient strength to allow for opening to traffic. The contractor was successful in completing the plantings of the trees and shrubs this week. Additionally, the electrical subcontractor continues to make good progress and anticipates having all the streetlights and bollards operational by end of next week. The closure of Jackson Street was completed this week to allow for the start of the underground utility work underneath the RR tracks. The actual installation of the new watermain is planned to be completed next week. The closure of Jackson Street is anticipated to last through mid-October. Additionally, the closure of the alley is scheduled to start on Monday, September 26, for an estimated three weeks to allow for the construction of the new storm sewer, perpendicular parking stalls, and the bituminous pavement.
