[ARCHIVED] Xcel Energy Aerial Electric Work for Old W Main St.

(May 13th, 2021, Red Wing, Minnesota.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following notification has been received from Xcel Energy:

Red Wing, MN – 05/17/2021-05/20/21 – Xcel Energy, will be performing aerial electric work in preparation for the City of Red Wing's Old W Main St reconstruction. This work will be completed on a portion of Old West Main St, between Clay St and Jefferson St, which will require a temporary lane closure during construction hours. There will also be additional work being done in the SW corner of Jackson St and Old W Main St that may result in potential loss of parking during construction hours. 

At 8:00 am on Monday, May 17th, 2021 through Thursday, May 20th at 5:00 pm, a portion of Old W Main St will be require the driving lanes to shift to allow Xcel Energy’s Electric crews to work in the area between Clay St and Jefferson St. With the lane shift, there will be no parking allowed on the north side (westbound) of Old W Main St within this area. No residential driveways are to be impacted by the construction area. Residents are asked to please follow posted no parking signs for the duration of the construction. Old W Main will fully open each day after construction is completed for the day. This detour may extend beyond the date range depending on weather and emergencies.

 We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones. Thank you in advance for your patience.
