(April 21, 2021, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following notification has been received from Xcel Energy:

 

Xcel Energy Gas Main Replacement Project
West Avenue Temporary Road Closure and Detour

 

Xcel Energy, and its contractor Q3C, will be performing gas main work on a portion of West Avenue, near the intersection of Ninth Street, which will require a temporary road closure and associated detour.

At 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021, through Wednesday, April 28 at 5:00 p.m., a portion of West Avenue will be closed to through traffic for Xcel Energy’s contractor Q3C to complete gas main work in the area of the intersection of West Avenue and Ninth Street. There will be a detour starting at the intersection of West Avenue and College Avenue heading west on College Avenue to Pine Street South to Putnam Street to West Avenue. No residential driveways are to be impacted by the construction area. Residents are asked to please follow posted detour signs for the duration of the closure. West Avenue will reopen in this area on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.
