Red Wing Fire Department Responds to Brush Fire
(April 2, 2021, Red Wing, Minn.) – On Friday, April 2nd at 12:10 the Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Goodhue Street in Red Wing.
Red Wing firefighters arrived on-scene in approximately 2 minutes from the time of dispatch. Upon arrival, firefighters found a large brush fire. The area burned was approximately 30 acres. The incident was placed under control within 60 minutes of arrival. Crews remained on-scene for approximately 60 minutes to check for hot spots. No injuries were reported and no buildings were damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Red Wing Fire Department responding units included 3 Fire Engines, 1 Ambulance, 1 Tender Truck, 2 Brush Trucks, and 2 Chief Officers. Goodhue Fire Department, Ellsworth Fire Department, and Lake City Fire Department assisted on scene. The Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriffs Office, and Goodhue County Dispatch assisted with the incident. Ellsworth Ambulance provided coverage at Station 1. Xcel Energy assisted on the scene.
