Pedestrian Bridge Update:

The Contractor has successfully completed the installation of the pile and buried footings for Pier 1 and 2. The Contractor is now working on forming and pouring the vertical bridge columns. The Contractor anticipates 3-4 weeks to complete the construction of vertical piers and pier caps. The construction of the soil embankment also started this week. The Contractor anticipates a week to complete the placement of the fill and will allow for the start of the 60-day settlement period. The settlement period is required to ensure the stability of the underlying and new fill soil before the permanent bridge and trail construction.

Old West Main Street Update

The low bid has been approved by MnDOT and all bids were presented to City Council on Monday, 3/22. A recent update from the Local Road Improvement Project (LRIP) delaying the grant awards did not allow Council to make a final decision at the meeting. In preparation for a decision on how to proceed, anticipated at the April 12 City Council meeting, an Open House has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 7 at 6:30 pm to be held remotely by Webex Meeting. Additional information on the LRIP and construction schedule is planned to be provided at this meeting, including the opportunity to receive feedback from the public.
