The Contractor has started moving equipment to the site and is planning to start work this coming week. The first phase of work will be on the new bridge footings located on the north side of the railroad tracks. Also starting this week, the Contractor plans to complete the building removal “demolition” at 1522 Old West Main Street. The Contractor anticipates a week to complete all building removal work. Following the demolition, the site will be left open to allow for private utility relocations required along the north side of the properties anticipated to be completed by mid-April

Old West Main Street Update

Bids were successfully opened this week. Three bids were received, and an apparent low bid was opened with a proposed cost below the engineer’s estimate. Bids are now under review by MnDOT and City staff. The construction start date is still anticipated for June 1, 2021.

In preparation for the start of construction, any properties that would like to review and discuss potential upgrades to their water service size, please reach out to Cory Bienfang at or (507) 995-2936.
