The Red Wing City Council approved the allocation of $250,000 from the City’s CARES Act funds to the Red Wing Port Authority on November 23, 2020. On December 1, 2020, the Port Authority approved the structure of a local business financing program, the “CARES Relief 911 Grant Program”. This program has the following components:
- Up to $4,000 grant assistance is available to local home-based businesses; up to $50,000 will be initially available for these businesses.
- Up to $7,500 grant assistance is available to local small businesses with 30 or fewer employees (full-time equivalent); up to $100,000 will be initially available for these businesses.
- Up to $7,500 grant assistance is available to local non-profit organizations with 30 or fewer employees (full-time equivalent); up to $100,000 will initially be available for these organizations.
The program summary, application download, and grant expanse spreadsheet are all available on the Red Wing Port Authority's website. The Port Authority is accepting applications for the program through December 31, 2020. Eligible businesses are encouraged to apply.
