Outdoor Recreational Activities and Enforcement of Executive Order 20-99
(December 2, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.)
On November 20, 2020, Emergency Order 20-99 outlined new COVID-19 restrictions to remain in effect until December 18, 2020. Included in this new order are conditions related to outdoor recreational activities prohibiting close proximity to others from different households. The activities include social gatherings, performances, competitions, team events, fairs, or other events that bring people together for a shared or coordinated social, community, or leisure purpose that involve individuals from more than one household. To maintain all citizens' safety, the Red Wing Police Department will increase their response and issue citations when encountering groups gathered in public parks, parking lots, or businesses. Previously, Red Wing Police Officers attempted to educate participants and encourage them to disperse without issuing citations. Enforcement of Executive Order 20-99 and individuals who violate the order will be guilty of a misdemeanor with the possibility of a $1,000 fine or imprisonment of up to 90 days.
