Disposal and Curbside Removal of Storm-Damaged Trees Extended One Week

(August 13, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.) – As a result of the storms that passed through Red Wing on Saturday, August 8, the Solid Waste Management Campus located at 1873 Bench Street, will continue to accept storm-damaged trees and branches at no charge through Saturday, August 22, 2020.

The hours for free storm damage disposal at the Solid Waste Campus

  • 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21
  • 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22

City of Red Wing Public Works Crews will continue collecting storm-damaged trees and branches, extending the curbside collection for one week. Beginning Monday, August 17, crews will make a final pass with collection starting in the Burnside area and will continue throughout the city.  We ask that residents have all materials placed on the boulevard and ready for collection as soon as possible. The amount of material on the curb will determine how quickly crews move through the city. Crews will not be returning once they have passed through the areas a second time. Street sweeping will begin when the final pass has been completed.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience as crews work to remove the storm-damaged trees and branches. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones. Thank you in advance for your patience.
