Red Wing Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire
(August 6th, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.) – On Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 10:54 p.m., the Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 1800 block of West Seventh Street in Red Wing.
Red Wing firefighters arrived on-scene in approximately 4 minutes from the time of dispatch. The fire was located in a detached garage behind the residence. The garage was fully involved with fire through the roof upon arrival. No occupants were inside the garage at the time of the fire. The incident was placed under control within 20 minutes of arrival. Crews remained on scene for approximately 2 hours to extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Red Wing Fire Department responding units included 1 Chief Officer, 3 Fire Engines, 1 Ambulance, and 1 Ladder Truck. The Red Wing Police Department and Goodhue County Dispatch assisted with the incident. Xcel Energy assisted on-scene. Ellsworth Ambulance was called to fill in the fire station and responded to 1 medical call during the fire. Lake City Ambulance was called to fill in the station and responded to 1 medical call during the fire.
