City Council/Board & Commission Meetings Held Virtually
(August 6, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing will be holding all City Council, Board and Commission, and other public meetings in a virtual setting for the foreseeable future due to ongoing and increasing concerns with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Recent increases in the number of Goodhue County and Pierce County COVID-19 cases, in addition to the overall increases in Minnesota, require a higher level of precaution. The average weekly number of new COVID-19 cases for the previous four weeks (July 2 - July 23) in Goodhue County has been nine cases per week. The last report for the week of July 23 - 30, was 24 cases. This is a dangerous increase that demands extra caution.
Changing the meeting format in no way limits or restricts residents’ access to public meetings. All meeting announcements will come with instructions on how to participate via Webex. The Mayor and City Council encourage residents to stay tuned to the City Council and other Board and Commission meetings by watching Channel 6 on cable-access TV, live streaming the meetings through any electronic device on the City’s website (www.red-wing.org), or via Webex.
The City of Red Wing is dedicated to the ongoing health and well being of its residents. With its tradition of growth, stability, and innovation, city leadership continues to maintain a proactive approach and a firm commitment to businesses, history, natural resources, and, most important, the Red Wing community.
