NOTICE OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE Laws of Minnesota 2017, Chapter 77, created a new law in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 415, that would require certain types of notice for many proposed ordinances or proposed amendments to ordinances. An ordinance amending Chapter 2, Section 2. 12 of the City Code relating to the Human Rights Commission Membership
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED WING DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: Section 2. 12 of the City Code is hereby amended by deleting the overstruck language and inserting the underlined language.
Section 2. 12. HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
Subd. 2. Composition. The Commission shall be composed of up to nine eleven members. Members shall be residents of the City in accordance with Section 2.08, Subdivision 4, of this Chapter, or nonresidents of the City drawn from with the boundary limits of Independent School District. No. 256. Such nonresidents shall have resided within the boundary limits of the School District for at least six months. The number of nonresident members must not constitute a quorum or more of the Commission. The Commission is not required to contain a minimum number of nonresidents as members. All members shall have the right to vote.
SECTION 2: Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 14 days after its adoption and publication in accordance with the City Charter.
