(June 19, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to inform the public that the following project has been completed.

Residents in the area of East Sixth Street from Bluff to Centennial Streets had expressed concern over the amount of light provided by the base fixtures installed by Xcel Energy during their shift to LED.

A pilot study had previously been conducted on East Fifth Street by having Xcel Energy install a higher wattage fixture. Council and residents were satisfied with the light provided, so a decision was made to add the section of Sixth Street to the list of upgraded fixtures. Xcel Energy has recently completed this work.
