Levee Park and Riverfront Trail Opening
(June 8, 2020, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to notify the public that the Levee Park Dockage and Vogel Harbor Improvement projects are near final completion. The construction project, delayed by a historic extended period of high water last year, is almost finished.
Effective immediately, the very popular trail segment connecting Levee Park to Vogel Harbor has been re-opened.
Vehicle and pedestrian barricades to Levee Park will be removed later in the week, signaling the reopening of Levee Park. When entering or exiting Levee Park, drivers of motorized vehicles need to take care and follow the newly-changed one-way traffic flow for entering and exiting to and from the park.
The entrance to Levee Park is similar to the past. Exiting the city park is now through the parking lot exit that intersects with Levee Road.
Following COVID-19 guidance, the City will be holding a small rededication ceremony later this week which will be videotaped for public viewing. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully when adjacent to or near any construction work zone.
