CITY OF RED WING

ASSESSMENT NOTICE

This may affect your 2021 property tax payments

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Red Wing shall meet virtually on May 12, 2020, at 5:30 p.m.  The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made. If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may speak to the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appeal to your local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before your case can be taken to the county board of appeal and equalization.

To participate in this meeting, contact the Goodhue County Assessor’s office at 651-385-3012 by end of the day on Monday, May 11, 2020, so they can have your documents ready for review during the meeting.  Public comments can be emailed to lavon.augustine@co.goodhue.mn.us, or may be left via voicemail by calling 651-385-3012.  To be included in the meeting, public comments must be received by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. People who want to take part in this meeting will be allowed to join by telephone and should call 651-385-3012 by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, to make arrangements to do so.  This meeting will be broadcast live on cable Channel 6 and can be watched live through the City’s website on any device such as phone, tablet, computer, or TV. This meeting will also be available for watching on-demand at any time afterward through the City’s website (www.red-wing.org).

Given under my hand this 1st day of May, 2020.
