Technically, Memorial Park is open all year round, and people come to enjoy its panoramic views, excellent hiking, mountain biking, and ski trails from miles around. The road that allows people to drive up to the top, however, is closed during the winter, and doesn’t open again until the frost is out of the ground. Well, that time has come. On Friday, April 24, at 8:00 a.m., the Public Works department officially opened the road to traffic, and area residents couldn’t be more thrilled to driving access once again to their favorite park. Make sure to practice social distancing while enjoying the park this season and stay safe, Red Wing!
