Calling all Minnesota crafters, sewers, and creatives!  The Governor and Lieutenant Governor have launched a Homemade Mask Drive to support those working and living in congregate living facilities. On Saturday April 25, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, Minnesotans are encouraged to donate homemade masks to their local fire stations. Our staff will deliver the masks to local congregative living facilities and other locations provided to us by our local emergency management. The masks will be used for employees and residents to wear. All 775 fire departments in the state of Minnesota will participate in the mask drive.  Please help as we continue to help others in this time of need. To maintain safe social distancing measures, our firefighters will be wearing full protective equipment to accept the donations and can pick them up from your car window. Drop-off locations will be at both Red Wing fire stations at:

Station 1
420 Plum St, Red Wing

Station 2
4880 Moundview Dr, Red Wing

If you would like to participate, mask-making tutorials are available on the Minnesota Department of Health website.  We appreciate the Red Wing community’s readiness to pull together during this difficult time and the continued efforts to keep our neighbors safe.

Red Wing Fire department is committed to helping anyone in need, providing exceptional fire suppression, advanced medical care, technical rescue, disaster management, fire prevention and public education. We are focused on operational readiness, department unity, professionalism and community engagement.
