Red Wing Solid Waste Facility

The reconstruction of the buildings at the Solid Waste Facility that were lost to fire in June of 2017 continues. 

During the weeks of September 16 through September 20, 2019 . . .

  • LS Black began prepping for trench drain setting at Recyclables Loadout.
  • LS Black poured concrete at trench drain setting at Recyclables Loadout.
  • LS Black poured concrete at RDF Loadout and Recyclables Loadout ramps.
  • LS Black began layout and formwork for north ramp and stairs.
  • Bolander continued excavating north of the building for site utilities and stairs, continued removing asphalt for PVC run to the north pond, and began installing PVC and manhole while maintaining access for the public.  
  • Bolander finished site utilities and began spreading and backfilling soil throughout.  Started removing the extent of asphalt pavement throughout.
  • Ironworkers detailing gutter and wall to roof transition at west elevation.
  • Ironworkers finished installing roof system at the west half of the building and continued installing liner panels at Mezzanine walls.
  • Fireline Sprinkler onsite installing a Fire Department connection and other piping.
  • Parker Electric Onsite installing electrical conduit at Maintenance/Parts walls.
  • Parker Electric installing electrical components at Mezzanine.
  • Pinnacle onsite framing up walls.
  • Braun onsite performing a proof roll at Recyclables Loadout.

A reminder to our customers and visitors – the construction zone is located in areas of the Waste Campus that have been typically accessible to customers.  Signs have been installed to provide direction.  All customers and visitors are asked to stop in the office before proceeding further into the Campus.
