Seventh Street Update
Work is progressing on the pedestrian ramps on the north side of Seventh Street. We anticipate that the concrete work will be completed next week with patching along the north side curb lines about a week later. Right now, milling and paving work is likely to occur in late September but could be moved earlier if scheduling allows.
Please use caution while driving through Seventh Street or any of the side street connections during the construction activities. The construction workers have noted a few close calls with vehicles going too fast down Seventh Street for the conditions present. Please also note the temporary stop signs at the Seventh Street/Bluff Street intersection for construction safety.
Tyler Road Update
Just a quick update on the upcoming work on Tyler Road. Work on the pedestrian ramp replacement on Tyler Road is not anticipated to begin for at least 2 weeks from now, with milling and paving not likely until mid to late October. We will let you know if that schedule changes significantly.
West and East Avenues Update
The crews are busy buttoning up East and West Avenues as much as possible in preparation for the Hispanic Heritage Festival this weekend in Central Park. After the weekend is over, the contractor will be working on some unanticipated storm sewer work at the Fifth Street/East Avenue intersection, which is anticipated to take about a day to complete. After that, work will shift over to the east sides of East and West Avenues as well as Fifth Street in front of Jordan Towers and continue with the pedestrian ramp replacement. Work will progress there for at least the next 2 weeks.
At this point, milling and paving work on the downtown streets is not likely until the end of September.
We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones. Thank you for your patience!
