A large part of the mission of the Friends of the Red Wing Public Library is to raise funds to supplement library resources. At the request of the library, the funds raised for this year will be used to fund a Digital Inclusion Program. We hope to raise enough money to fund at least 10 devices for our library patrons to borrow which provide "hot spots" so that individuals who do not have access to the internet in their homes can access the internet.

On THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, the Friends of the Library will host their SECOND ANNUAL HARVEST TEA AND SILENT AUCTION for this special project The event will be held at the NEWLY REMODELED Red Wing Golf Course. Doors open at 4 p.m. Guests will be welcomed with a cocktail or mocktail and time to peruse the Silent Auction items before enjoying a High

Tea. A starter course, tea sandwiches, scones with lemon curd and cream, and a variety of desserts will be served. Guests will also have the opportunity to try a variety of teas and perhaps go home with a door prize.

Laura Childs, a well-known Minnesota author of several Cozy Mystery series as well as thrillers under the name Gerry Schmidt, will be our special guest at the Author's Table where 7 lucky guests can sit with her. They can bring books to sign, ask questions regarding mystery writing and allow her to share her expertise. Each guest will receive a special surprise from the author herself.

Speakers will be on hand to update guests regarding last year's history project and to provide a thorough explanation of this year's special project

A PHOTO OP STOP will be available for guests to commemorate this special evening in pictures. Bring your camera or phone to capture some special memories with some special friends.

Tickets for this event can be purchased at the Red Wing Public Library NOW!
