No Parking on Portions of Levee Road Beginning Monday, August 5, 2019

(August 1, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Public Works Department would like to inform you that there will be no parking on the portion of Levee Road from the bulkheads to Withers Harbor Drive beginning Monday, August 5, 2019. There will be single-lane traffic with lane shifts to allow for equipment and trucks working on the dredging of the Mississippi River. In addition, there will be no fishing or parking on the west bulkhead. The work will be conducted weekdays, Monday through Friday with no restrictions on Saturdays and Sundays for the duration of the project.  Crews will be working 12-hour shifts.

The Army Corp of Engineers is expecting the dredging to take approximately five weeks, weather dependent, with traffic patterns and parking returning to normal when the work is completed. Traffic control will be in place. Drivers are encouraged to avoid this area.

Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. Thank you in advance for your patience!
