Red Wing Solid Waste Facility

The reconstruction of the buildings at the Solid Waste Facility that were lost to fire in June of 2017 continues.
During the week of July 22 through July 26, 2019 . . .
- Contractor began forming the south wall of Tipping Floor 117 and the north half of Recyclables Loadout
- Iron workers finished installing rebar for Tipping Floor south wall and rebar mat at south wall of tipping floor. They continued to install purlins and cross bracing at the west half of the building, which is now ready for concrete pour. The temporary wall along “F” Line was completely removed. The building face is undergoing detailing in preparation for exterior metal panels – including lower Admin Area.
- Contractor poured concrete for the south wall of Tipping Floor 117
- Sprinkler company was on-site to relocate the sprinkler main to allow for PEMB roof structure for new building.
A reminder to our customers and visitors – the construction zone is located in areas of the Solid Waste Campus that have been typically accessible to customers. Signs have been installed to provide direction. All customers and visitors are asked to stop in the office before proceeding further into the Campus.
