Victim Identified, Suspect Apprehended in June 25 Shooting 


(June 26, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, a shooting occurred in the 700 block of Plum Street in Red Wing.  Witnesses reported hearing one to four gunshots and seeing a male running from the scene toward Bush Street and Highway 58.

When the Red Wing Police Department arrived on the scene, they found one gunshot victim and began administering CPR.  Red Wing EMS transported the victim to Mayo Red Wing, and the victim was airlifted from there to another hospital. The victim is D’andre Shawn Hicks, 28, from Tampa, Florida.  Hick’s condition remains unknown at this time.

Officers recovered a firearm in the area shortly after arriving on-scene, but no suspect was immediately apprehended.

A suspect has now been arrested in connection with the shooting.  Michael Reyes, 19, of Red Wing, was apprehended today in Woodbury, MN, and is currently in custody.

Red Wing Police Department was assisted by Goodhue County Dispatch, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Washington County Tactical Team, and Woodbury Public Safety.
