[ARCHIVED] High Waters Cause Park and Boat Ramp Closures over Memorial Weekend

Contact: Tony Grosso
Office of Emergency Management
Red Wing Police Department

(May 24, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – Recent rainfall in our region has caused the Mississippi River to rise again, leading to several area park and boat launch closures including:

  • The road into Colvill Park
  • Frazier Street access to the public boat launch
  • The parking lot of the Red Wing Marina
  • Parts of Bay Point Park are closed, though the Field of Honor to commemorate Memorial Day is still open

If you encounter barricades while driving, please do not drive around them.  They are in place to protect driver’s safety, and it is unlawful to remove them or drive around them.  Thank you for your cooperation and have a safe holiday.

The City of Red Wing is dedicated to the ongoing health and well-being of its residents.
