[ARCHIVED] Shooting Victim Identified

(May 22, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – The identities of the individuals involved in the Tuesday, May 21, 2019 shooting incident in Red Wing are released.

At 2:30 am, Red Wing Police responded to a call involving a shooting near Hallstrom Dr. and Twin Bluff Road. The victim of the shooting was airlifted to Rochester Mayo at that time.  The victim of the shooting is identified as John P. Smith of Rochester, MN.  No information is currently available as to the victim’s condition.

The shooting suspect is identified as John Roberts, age 18, of Red Wing.  Roberts was booked into the Goodhue County Jail on Tuesday for first-degree assault.
