On May 1, Mayor Sean Dowse welcomed representatives of the Minnesota GreenStep Cities to Red Wing at City Hall for a GreenStep Workshop.  The workshop began with presentations by Red Wing representatives and citizens, including Councilmember Evan Brown and members of the Sustainability Commission, discussing sustainability initiatives in the city, such as energy conservation and early adoption of solar energy systems. The event included a walking tour of solar installations in the downtown historic district and the new EV Charging Station that was installed in 2018, followed by a visit to the Red Wing High School’s 5 MW Solar Garden.

The City of Red Wing is proud to be recognized as a Level 5 GreenStep City, demonstrating sustainability best practices in addition to annual improvement upon eligible CORE metrics.
