City Clerk's Office

Responsibilities

The City Clerk is the clerical officer of the city and manages and supervises the city of Red Wing's daily business activities involving records management, election administration, licensing and permitting. The City Clerk's Office is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the electronic document-imaging system of citywide records including maintaining the records of the three city-owned cemeteries.

Minnesota Data Practices Act

The City Clerk is responsible for managing and administering all aspects of city, state and federal elections in accordance with applicable laws. The City Clerk serves as the responsible authority for all city documents according to the Minnesota Data Practices Act.

City Council Minutes & Resolutions

City Council Meeting Minutes are the official record of Council proceedings and are only available on this site after they have been approved by City Council. 

Resolutions

Resolutions are written documentation for any council action of a temporary, routine or administrative nature.

City Charter

Red Wing is one of 107 home rule charter cities in the state of Minnesota that has adopted a charter. The Charter is a local constitution approved by local voters.
